It has really taken off since last summer when Josh put up this trellis. Give it something to climb and BOY does it CLIMB! LOL
Well you have just GOTTA see it now!!!
Amazing huh? I swear every day the thing gets more blossoms! And there are at LEAST that many new buds just waiting for thier turn! Sorry for the glare, I literally took this pic like 5 minutes ago, and the sun is VERY bright this morning! But the kids are being good so NOW is the time to blog!
In fact our entire yard/garden has really taken off this past week. I think that a couple of days of cooler weather and some rain has certainly helped!
Our first little tomato!!!
I love tomatos...I mean like LOOOOVE them! I won't even make myself a sandwich unless we have them on hand! :D Of all the things we have planted I am most excited about *hopefully* [crosses fingers] getting some yummy tomatos! :D
Our 'new' lemons! The picture of our 'first' lemon from my previous post showed the lemon that was already growing when we bought the tree...it is just nice to see that under our care our Lemon Tree (I think I shall name her Sprite...*snicker snicker*) has conceded to replace the 20+ blooms with teeny tiny little soon-to-be-lemons! :D YAY!!!
While these are NOT fruit, they are by FAR my most favorite flower we have planted...and they are getting HUGE!
Our Martha Washington Geranium has recovered from its crazy overgrowth of last year and has dozens of blooms on it now...it is truly beautiful!
OK, the peas were the first thing we planted...and they are TOTALLY insane now! That trellis net is 2ft tall...these plants are HUGE! And while I did discover that some nasty little critter has been nibbling on the lower leaves (grumble grumble...grrrrr...I will deal with THAT promptly) I am hoping they give us lots of yummy fresh sugar snap and regular peas!
I LOVE the blooms on the climbing jasmine. Those little delicate star-shaped blooms are so pretty! And there are SO MANY of them! I would highly recommend them to anyone in the desert, they are really hardy plants! They are even planted out in our Condo complex in the landscaping near sidewalks, although they sure seem to do better after we tied them up...they like to climb...just like Izzy!
Amandas pink rosebush is growing like CRAZY lately! I LOVE the bright red new growth leaves on the roses...they are so beautiful!
Of course the reason that our yard is doing so well is due to this little garden Gnome that Emily picked out to protect all our green growing things!
;)
Amanda picked a frog...I love frogs, they make me happy! :D

Your flowers are making me EXTREMELY jealous!!! Soooo pretty, some day I do hope to venture into the serious flower stuff too. Until then, I will live vicariously through you my friend---so go out enjoy them for me. :o)
