Officially the Terriblest of the Terrible 2's

It is official...my baby is a 2year old!  Sheesh, that sure happened quickly! :)  Yet at the same time I am kindof dumbfounded that my little Izzy is only 2...she FEELS so much older than that!  After all she certainly doesn't seem only two,  she is as big as most average 3 year olds, plays on the computer, tries to fill her own water bottle, holds a pencil correctly, and can out-eat almost everyone else in the house.  Elizabeth is a RIOT!!!  WHAT a crazy little whirlwind of a personality she has!  I am really enjoying that she is talking so much more now, makes those fits of rage that kids get when they can't communicate few and far between!

Elizabeth is OBSESSED with bugs.  Not in a 'my kid likes bugs' kind of way...but in the "my kid SEES bugs everywhere, on everything, she talks about them ALL day long, every mark on the wall is a 'bug', every spot on the carpet is a 'bug'...she keeps trying to tell me that my FRECKLES are bugs!" kind of way.  LOL  If she is upset about something all we have to do is ask her "Izzy, WHERE is the BUG???" and she stops crying immediately and frantically searches for the 'bug'.

So naturally the 'theme' for this Birthday was Bugs...

After Izzy's nap Amanda and Emily
went upstairs to get the Birthday Girl
(oh, and Yes...I do believe that my older girls
wore their PJ's all day long...so? ;)

If you can ignore the hideous framing,
and messy background,
and pajamas,
this may just be my absolute most FAVORITE picture
of all my girls together EVER! :)
Aren't they beautiful?

OK, I am SO NOT a 'pro' at cake decorating,
basically I do it about 4x a year.
This is the Bug Cake...along with four little baby bugs.
There used to be a few more cupcakes...
alas, Izzy got them and ate the tops off of them...again*sigh*

The only thing that really mattered was that Izzy LOVED her cake!
oh, and I am so glad that she actually recognized
that it was supposed to be a bug! HA HA HA

I WISH that I had been filming us singing 'Happy Birthday' to Izzy instead of just snapping pictures.
She started yelling "NOOOO!!!" at us while we were singing...it was freaking hysterical!  Josh and I were cracking up!  I guess she thinks that we shouldn't be creating a Family singing group anytime soon!

She was happy to have her cupcake, she is a simple girl.

Josh had the great idea to find her some 'bug' flip flops,  I couldn't find any so I bought some inexpensive flips and glued on the bug buttons, Izzy LOVES them! :)  She is ALWAYS wearing everyone elses flip flops all around the house, and even outside!  And when I say everyone I do mean everyone!
She will even wear Josh's shoes...see:

One day we were waiting for Sam's school bus to show up...
and Izzy came out wearing Josh's big 'ol size 13 flip flops...
she is so funny! LOL

Yep, these fit MUCH better!

We really did not need any new toys in our house,
so I asked the girls to go through thier 'library' of books
and pick out all the ones about bugs- we wrapped them up
and when they were opened she was really happy.
It was a huge success!!!
...and NO excess toys to clean up.

She is liking the book...LOVING the cupcake...still.
Um, yeah she has been licking it ever since the candles were blown out...
she did eat the whole thing eventually! :)

Izzy loves to play with Emily's Littlest Pet Shop
collection of toys,
so when I saw this little ladybug LPS toy
I thought it would be perfect!

Costco may be evil, but I LOVE the dresses
I found there for my baby girl!!
So they would fit longer than a month
I got her size 5...yep FIVE, she is so big!
I am hoping that she will be able to
wear them next summer as well.

Further proof of her love of bugs,
this is very often how I find her in the backyard:
laying on her tummy happily watching the bugs...

This shows MY feelings for bugs.
